This year, NMF is launching a FestiVOL site, using the industry's leading volunteer management software to keep track of our 400+ volunteer crew. This software will make it much easier to register, schedule and track volunteers, and will improve accountability for NMF by requiring a deposit and application fee for all general volunteers. It is a four-step process, requiring volunteers to create a username, fill out an application, sign a waiver and pay an application and deposit fee. When you click on the link below, you will be walked through the process, step by step.
Please note: You will not be selecting your shift time and location like you did last year. Instead, you will indicate your preferred volunteer area and time frame for volunteering, and then NMF will select a site for you. Volunteer scheduling will continue until all vacancies are filled. Read more about volunteer options by clicking here. Once you’ve completed your registration, VIEW YOUR SCHEDULE AT YOUR
VOLUNTEER CHECK IN INFORMATION
Pre-Fest volunteers: Fencing and general setup crew, please report to the festival grounds at the start of your shift. Office setup should report to Stuart's Opera House. Check in at Volunteer HQ and receive wristband and t-shirt prior to starting your shift. Clock in/out with Sarah at Volunteer HQ.
Weekend/Day Pass/Professional Volunteers: Check in at Volunteer HQ prior to the start of your first shift and receive wristband and t-shirt. Your clock in/out location will be determined by the area that you're volunteering in, and this info will be given to you upon arrival. Your shift schedule will be reviewed with you, and if last-minute shift relocation needs to happen, you'll be notified at this time.
More about the Clock In/Out Procedure:
New this year is a system where volunteers will clock in at the beginning and clock out at the end of each shift. It's a quick and painless process, ensuring that you're working in the right place at the right time. Your deposit, if applicable, is tied to the completion of all shifts, so it's very important that you clock in and out every time. A 10 minute buffer has been built into every volunteer schedule to provide you with enough time to clock in and still arrive to your shift on the hour.
Last minute cancellations:
If you simply cannot fulfill your volunteer obligation from today onward, you forfeit your deposit in full. Please cancel via FestiVOL, and email firstname.lastname@example.org with your decision. Those with waived deposits that cancel at the last minute will not be invited to volunteer in future festivals. You'll receive more details about your specific volunteer assignment onsite. Don't forget that camping is free all weekend for full volunteers, and day pass volunteers can camp on the night of their assignment. If you need any further questions answered, reach Sarah Conley, Volunteer Coordinator at email@example.com.
