West Virginia

Born Old is an old-time group comprised of Doug Van Gundy on fiddle and guitar and Paul Gartner on banjo and guitar. They have dedicated their careers to learning, sharing and sustaining the traditional music of Appalachia, getting close to the source whenever possible. Their repertoire is derived from West Virginia masters like The Bing Brothers, Melvin Wine and The Hammond Brothers, as well as more widely-known groups like The Carter Family.
