Four friends from Athens, Ohio who threatened to start a stoner rock band together each time they met at local bars, finally came together to form DUNE in 2011. Influenced by their favorite acts (Sabbath, Kyuss, QOTSA, Sword, Truckfighters), DUNE’s brand of stoner metal has various undertones–everything from soul to thrash.

With her spellbinding voice and time-bending sensi With her spellbinding voice and time-bending sensibilities, @sierraelizabethferrell makes music that’s as fantastically vagabond as the artist herself. Growing up in small-town West Virginia, the singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist left home in her early 20s to journey across the country with a troupe of nomadic musicians, playing everywhere from truck stops to alleyways to the back porch of a log cabin at NMF 2019. Few artists are storytellers as deft and disarming Few artists are storytellers as deft and disarmingly observational as #NMF23 artist Andy Shauf. The Toronto-based, Saskatchewan-raised musician’s songs unfold like short fiction: they’re densely layered with colorful characters and a rich emotional depth. On his new album The Neon Skyline, 11 interconnected tracks follow a simple plot: the narrator goes to his neighborhood dive, finds out his ex is back in town, and she eventually shows up. While its overarching narrative is riveting, the real thrill of the album comes from how Andy Shauf finds the humanity and humor in a typical night out and the ashes of a past relationship.
