Artist and printer Sarah Brown uses letterpress tools to dig deep into the natural world. First she hand carves images using traditional methods like wood engraving and linoleum carving. She pairs them with her collection of vintage hand-set type, and then prints them, one color at a time, on vintage letterpress machines from the 1940’s and 50’s. With these processes, she creates paper sculptures, posters, journals, greeting cards, and more.
